Fit Friend Friday - Dominique Wendel Enerio

Dominique Wendel Enerio

At Team Grit we love seeing Dominique at Spartan races and training sessions around South East Asia. With great success in her age group, she recently took the leap to racing elite. Dominique has already made her mark by securing a podium spot at the Iskandar Spartan and we think 2020 will be a big year for her. Check out her full interview below.

How did you first get in to OCR?

I was scrolling down my Facebook feed and saw an advert for a Spartan Race. I was so amazed by it as a concept. So, I registered my first Spartan race in March 2018.

What is your favourite race or OCR experience?
My favourite race was in October this year in Sarawak. I loved the trail, the thrill of running in the jungle and the muddy course. Also, it’s where I won my first gold medal.... not only 1 but 2 as I took on the Beast and the Sprint that weekend.

Favourite obstacle?
Although I have fear of heights, I love the climbing obstacles and the Rope Climb is my fave!

Biggest achievement?
My biggest achievement has got to be my recent 1st place Female Elite in my first Ultra Race.

OCR must have item?
Gloves

Favourite post race snack?
I don’t really feel like taking anything after the race except water. But once I feel hungry, I always crave for soupy food like fish or chicken soup and rice.

When is your next race and why did you choose it?
My next race will be in February 2020 in Vietnam.. new year, new place. It’ll be the 1st leg of SEA series. Besides, I’ve never been to that country and going there makes me so excited to get to know its culture and to meet its people.

What is your workout mantra / favourite saying when things get tough?
Let it go... let it go…
